Jiřina Rybačková received the Woodrow Wilson Freedom Award from US Ambassador to Prague Andrew Shapiro Apr 20, according to press reports. She is the 5th recipient, for her contribution to US-Czech relations. She was recognized for her 10 years of the annual American Spring (Americké Jaro) Festival bringing music to about 20 towns (Apr 13-July 15).
The 'Smrt Kmotřička' exhibit on the topic and influence of death in the arts has been prolonged at The Czech Museum of Music. It opened in June 2014 and runs through June 14, 2015.
