So Many Choices! Your Sept 2014 Calendar
Although traditionally the full season has usually started in October, it seems performers are filling in their “show time” diaries a little earlier each year.
Take this September, for example. Already your Opus Osm Events Calendar offers you more than 50 top-quality performances – just in September alone! For example, the National Theatre kicks off its regular season offering a full plate of ballet, opera, and music; the National Museum’s annual Dvořáková Nelahozeves Walk is Sun., Sept 7, and the next day the annual (unrelated) Dvořáková Praha Festival begins.
This year several “institutions” are celebrating big anniversaries, among them The PKF – Prague Philharmonia (20th); Prague Symphony Orchestra (80th); the Prague Philharmonic Choir (80th) and the Prague Chamber Ballet (50th).
How can you access the Calendar? Two easy ways:
Click on the black “Calendar” tab at the top of any Opus Osm page. You’ll see three choices. The first is Events Calendar. Click on it, and you’ll see a large calendar with the title of every performance for each day. Click on any performance title to see its basic details.
Click on the “Events” calendar in the upper right corner of any Opus Osm page (Events – Click Orange Dates). Click on any orange date and you’ll see a list of titles for that day’s performances. Then click on any title, and you’ll see the performance details. But remember! If every date is orange, it’s because there are performances every single day of that month (non-performance days are gray).
More Ways to Find Something to Do
Also, check the far right column on every Opus Osm page except the Home page. There you’ll see our listing of high-quality Performances for 200 Kč or Less (who said the classics have to be expensive?); Performances Out of Prague (in case you’re “not in”); and News Notes (interesting new exhibitions, CD releases, tidbits, etc).
And finally, back to the black “Calendar” tab at the top of any Opus Osm page: Click there, and you can also find Performance Addresses, the street addresses of more than 70 classical performance locations in Prague. Select Czech-English / English-Czech Terms to help you decipher information on tickets, posters, and in program books. – oo
