The Prague Symphony Orchestra (FOK) offers ticket packages for Christmas

Christmas Packages (2)

If you’re still doing your Christmas shopping (or even if you’re all done), here’s another idea for a great Christmas present for friends, family, or even yourself.

The Prague Symphony Orchestra (FOK) offers you your own “free choice” Christmas package of any four concerts from their regular orchestral series during their regular season, and at a 40 percent discount on the price.

You can select four from the A/B, C/D series of classical music concerts offering a selection of music from the 18th and 19th centuries. The A/B series often features vocal music as well; the C/D series presents a wide variety of symphonies by leading European composers from the same period.

There’s no minimum or maximum for the number of tickets you can purchase in their Christmas package of four concerts (while supplies last).

What Else Would You Like to Hear?

Another Christmas present idea (or a good idea any time) is the Symphony’s Ad Libitum package. With this one you can choose four or more concerts. If you’re looking for dependably enjoyable and enriching activities you can experience with the whole family, the Family Series is the one you might prefer. It’s designed for listeners of all generations. Each concert lasts just an hour (with no intermission) and features accessible, interesting music showcasing the glories of the orchestra.

The World Piano Series, on the other hand, is for those who enjoy (or would like to learn about) the rich world of historical keyboard music. Concerts on organ, harpsichord, and of course the piano are featured, giving listeners the opportunity to hear music from different nations and generations.

If you wish to hear and support local Czech chamber ensembles, the Chamber Music Series is the one to pick. The best ensembles perform in this special series of eight concerts.

And from the very old to the very new, you can choose the best: the Early Music Series concentrates on music from the Late Middle Ages to the early Baroque; and the Popular Series ranges from folk to jazz to classical music.

And finally, you can also include a new series in your Ad Libitum package, the Choir Series of four choral concerts. This series presents purely choral and choral-instrumental music performed by four renowned Prague ensembles. – oo
