'Hungarian Dance' from the Bolshoi's production of 'Raymonda' offered later this ballet season

As Close as the Cinema

Aerofilms continues its young tradition of presenting world-class opera and ballet in high-definition (HD), direct, live broadcasts to Czech movie theatres. And, like last year, again this year it’s adding classical music to the menu.

If you’d like to learn about ballet and opera story lines and characters, and then compare local live theatre performances in Prague or Brno, for example, you can start by watching the on-screen performances in your local cinema.

If you’d like to celebrate New Year’s Eve by watching “the Russian Horowitz” violinist Jevgenij Kissin perform with the Berlin Philharmonic, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle, you can, just by visiting your movie theatre.

Operas from Mozart to Wagner to Glass will be presented all season, live from The Metropolitan Opera in New York. And if you want theatre plays, this is the third season of direct-broadcast theatre live from the London National Theatre.

Ballet from Top Troupes

For ballet fans, the world’s first presentation of Giselle in 3D will top the list of traditional-format classic ballets this season. Aero regularly presents live broadcasts from three top ballet companies: The Bolshoi Ballet, Moscow; The Paris Opera Ballet; and the Royal Ballet, London. Additional performances this year will be shown from St Petersburg and Birmingham.

The ballet, opera, and classical music schedule for Prague theatres through 2011:
