Friday, April 8, 2011: Ceiling Contest!

Where, oh where could it be?

It’s Friday again! Time for the weekend — and another Opus Osm contest!

Things are looking up again — it’s another ceiling contest!

Take a look at the photo to your left. Recognize this site of many fine concerts?

If you don’t know it, take a look at the bottom of the page for the answer.

In the meantime, here are some clues, with attendant scoring:

1 It has 4 tracts around a square courtyard (15 points)

2 Franz Kafka worked here for a while after law school (12 points)

3 It was built by an Italian architect for the Viceroy of Naples (9 points)

4 Mr and Mrs Mozart attended balls here (4 points)

5 Beethoven played a concert here (3 points)

6 It’s a prime example of pure, Viennese Baroque architecture (1 point)

7 If you guessed it correctly from the photo alone (20 points)

The answer: The Clam Gallas Palace
